Research Databases

OCAC subscribes to a number of excellent databases for academic research. 
Please contact the library for usernames and passwords if needed.

ARTStor offers access to more than 1 million images compiled from a variety of academic institutions and museum collections. Images from ARTStor may be used for study, research, and classroom presentations. To create your personal account you must first register from any OCAC networked computer on campus. Logins expire after 120 days, after which you will need to return to campus to set up an account again.

Oxford Art Online contains the full-text of the The Dictionary of Art -the landmark encyclopedia of world art from prehistory to present in over 45,000 articles. It also contains the Benezit Dictionary of Art, the Oxford Companion to Western Art, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms.

For copyright reasons, Grove Art Online cannot publish all of the images in the print edition.

Art & Architecture Source database offers full text abstracts and indexing of an international array of peer-selected publications--now with expanded coverage of Latin American, Canadian, Asian, and other non-Western art, new artists, contemporary art, exhibition reviews, and feminist criticism.

Journal of Modern Craft Online 

In addition to the print version of this journal our subscription also allows online searching of full text articles.  From any computer on campus, you will not need to login but from off campus, you will be prompted to login.

WorldCat Search every public and academic library in the country, and have the items delivered to OCAC.

You can also access many other databases available from WCCLS. You need to have have your WCCLS library card handy.  You can get one at the OCAC library anytime.

Fine Arts and Music available through the Oregon State Library is a resource that indexes Wilson Art Index and RILM. Users must be in the state of Oregon to access.
