Erin Purcell

In her thesis body of work, Purcell has created four abstract sculptures made of concrete and foam. With her pieces she hopes to evoke the feeling of existence, including all the highs and lows we experience when we are present in our lives. Purcell also explores themes of mortality with the three-dimensional sculptures. She has decided to not present these pieces as photographs because she wants the audience to experience the whole object, not just the way Purcell wants you to see it.
