Heather Lowe

For her thesis project, Lowe presents two folios of illustrations, one in colored pencil and the other in chalk pastel, and a series of nine acrylics paintings on canvas, all presented around the theme of storytelling. One folio is a collection of very short stories, and the other is similar but more “absurdist”. The nine paintings illustrate the global practice of entheogen use. Lowe’s pieces are an examination of culture, myth, and narrative viewed through a lens of humor. She also explorers themes of death and divinity.
