Kayline Francis

Francis seeks to define what ‘home’ means. She journeys through her own experiences growing up in Jamaica, living in Pennsylvania from age twelve through adulthood and settling in Seattle. Through three distinct wall hangings, Francis depicts each of the aforementioned places she identifies as home. The hangings are mostly cotton fabric and organza. Through intricate embroidery, the use of dyes and color and silhouettes, the artist’s story of home is told in great detail.
