Nina Toy

For her thesis body of work, Toy chose to spend time with lined paper, which she describes as a “very simple and familiar object.” She created a variety of renditions by applying the paper’s iconic red and blue lines using printmaking, drawing, and painting on different materials. There are 6 pieces in her thesis displaying the classic look of lined paper but displayed in various states including as a paper airplane, crumpled into a ball, and even one paper that is perfectly clean with no folds or tears. She also has created a large scale piece of paper and a large paperclip out of aluminum.
